This weekend is the annual Art in the Park, or Fart in the Park as my father refers to it, at Julia Davis Park in Boise. I've been looking forward to going all week as I have fond memories of going to Art in the Park as a child to see the artists booth and make my own art in the kids tent. Today I went to see the new art booths and to eat a great lunch. I purchased some great cards that have Idaho and Boise themes on them (website to come soon as reference).

I also purchased some "props" for my classroom:

The first is a flipper, NOT a spatula. Spatula's in my classroom are used to frost things, so we call this tool a flipper to distiguish between the two in foods labs. Students are constantly calling it a spatula so I thought wearing this head gear would be a great way for students to recall the correct term for the tool.

The second is a set of silverware I plan on wearing while I discuss table setting and manners... I will be doing that lesson this week so I'll let you know how it goes.

The third is for when I review sewing rules and why it is important to carry sewing shears correctly and not run with them.

These great items came from Spoonman Creations, check out the website for some of the other cool things they make.
