After re-reading a book I purchased by Cloud & Townsend and watching a video they made entitled Dating is not Exclusively about Marriage I realized that my expectations of dating have in the past been set way too high. This may explain why in the past 12 years of my dating life I have only been on 12 dates. 12 dates in 12 years is pretty pathetic especially when you take into consideration that I went to public High School, was an active member of a youth group, spent 4 years in college, and was in a sorority at the U of I.
My reflection of my past dating experiences motivated me to resolve that the year 2009 will be the year I change my perspective about dating and change my expectations. I’m a list maker so I have started a little list of my dating experiences thus far… all 12 of them. My resolution is to add 29 more dates to the list in the year 2009.
I need your help...
Taking into consideration what bad luck I have had in the past finding guys to date I am inviting you, my friends and family, to bring on the single guys… set me up on blind dates, invite me out for a double date, do what you can to help me reach my goal of going on 29 dates in the year 2009. I have no list of qualifications for my dates… after-all they are just dates.
