While I shoveled my driveway my new neighbor came out to help me. We talked about her family and my job while slowly wildling away the accumulation of white snow. As I was knocking snow off my boots I decided to get my school bag and purse out of my car to go in. However when I attempted to open the door I realized I had locked my keys in my car. I NEVER lock my keys in my car. I hoped I had my spare set on the key hook inside, but I was fearful that the spare was also in the car. So after searching for the spare and realizing it was not around I called my parents hoping they might have my spare key. My mother said they didn’t and gave the phone to my dad who told me they were on their way over to save me from my predicament.
When my parents arrived my mom handed me a stack of hangers and told me to open the garage because my dad thought he had a trick that might work. I went in the garage to wait for directions on how I would be helping my dad break into my car. He said “Before we try the hangers let me try a trick” and he proceeded to blow into the lock of the door. I wondered for a bit if this was going to work when all of the sudden I heard the doors unlock. I answered with a surprised “Yes!” when my dad asked me if the trick worked. It then struck me that it was pretty creepy that anyone with a good set of lungs on them could break into my car… so I wondered aloud that I didn’t know that would work and that it was kind of creepy. That’s when my dad held up the spare key with automatic lock that he had in his other hand and started laughing at me. My parents now are keeping my spare on a permanent basis in case I ever have another key locking incident and I promised I’d get my own spare made soon. I think it’s funny that no matter how old my sister and I get my dad continues to try and see how gullible we are. T
The whole blowing in the lock brought a new meaning to the old saying about “blowing smoke.”

If you had 4 inches of snow in this area, school would be closed... makes you want to live in Oregon huh? ;) Were you late work?
I was not late to work and I like it in Boise just fine thank you. :)
